Nikki Butler - The Autistic Joyologist/Neurodivergent Skills Mastery: Discover, Harness & Succeed

When will it get easier?!

Hi there, fellow neurodivergent entrepreneur and leaders.

Do you struggle to keep up with the endless tasks in your business, feeling out of control, anxious and constantly on the edge of burnout?

Are you always worrying that something will go wrong, or that someone will find out you're not as good as they think you are?

I know the feeling.

I've been there!

I looked on in awe as other entrepreneurs managed tasks that I couldn't grasp, willing myself to do better and find a better, easier way.

What if I told you that there IS an easier way?

I have discovered a way to significantly reduce the overwhelm and pressure so you can feel calmer and in control.

And, as a bonus, you'll be happier and more successful!.

How Did We Get Here?!

Did you know that research shows that children who have ADHD are estimated to have received 20,000 more pieces of negative feedback by the age of twelve compared to children who do not have ADHD?

And that by the age of seven to eight, neurodiverse children will already have formed the belief that they are not good enough in some way.

So where does that leave those of us who are diagnosed in later life, having been subjected to criticism, judgment, rejection and even ridicule our whole lives?

For many of us, we live our lives believing we are not good enough, not enough or in some way, broken. It can lead us to focus only on the things we believe we are rubbish at or incapable of, terrified that someone will find us out and live our lives in a state of anxiety, shame and overwhelm.

You've likely tried harder than most people you know; you've delivered over and above what's expected of you. You've put everyone else's needs over your own, often with horrible consequences that leave you being taken advantage of, burnout out and miserable, wishing there was a better way.

Somewhere along the line, we believed we were supposed to be good at everything because we likely received the feedback to 'try harder' or were shamed with comments like 'It's not that hard, why can't you just do it'. And so we focused on these things, our perceived failings, and we have yet to really celebrate what we're amazing at.

Well, that's all about to change! You do not need to 'try harder', and you do not need to be good at everything. No-one is! This mini-series on Neurodivergent Skills Mastery will set you free and on the path to living a life with more balance, calmness, happiness, and success. Still, more importantly, you'll discover how amazing you are!

Does this sounds like you?

Do you ever;

  • Feel like you're not as good as other people, or not good enough?

  • Often feel overwhelmed and out of control.

  • Worry that others will think you're incompetent or incapable if you can't do something.

  • Feel embarrassed or ashamed of things you find difficult but think you should find easy.

  • Focus on the things you find difficult, rather than what you do well.

What if you could....

  • Feel proud of the skills and strengths you have.

  • .Confidently work and live in a way that makes you feel happy and calm.

  • Stop beating yourself up for the things you perceive yourself as not good at.

  • Stop feeling constantly overwhelmed and out of control, on the edge of burnout.

Imagine waking up in the morning and looking forward to the day ahead, feeling refreshed from a good night's sleep. No more laying awake at night wondering how you will achieve the impossible list of things you need to do, already knowing that you will fail at something.

Imagine having the energy and time to do things you love with people you love. What if you could evenings and weekends relaxing, instead of working, or worrying about work?

What if you didn't feel like you had to do it all? Knowing you are more than good enough, exactly as you are.

Wouldn't that be amazing?

What We'll Cover

It might be a 'mini series' - but there's nothing 'mini' about what you'll learn or the impact it will have! Here's what we will cover together...

Understanding Your Skills Through Spiky Profiling

'Spiky profiling' is a strange term. It's a term that describes the big differences that many neurodiverse people experience in their skill sets. You will discover that you excel in some skills and find them easy, whilst others you will find difficult, frustrating or even impossible. In Module One, you'll discover how understanding your unique spiky profile can help you find more balance, calm, happiness and success in your life.

Mapping Your Unique Spiky Profile

Module Two is where you dive in and discover your unique spiky profile. You'll gain a deep understanding of your skills profile, covering the full range from areas where you excel to the places you find difficult and everything in between. This module is powerful; expect light bulb moments and moments of pride and self-compassion.

Mastering Your Skills For Happiness & Success

Module Three is where the magic happens. It's not enough to just know your unique spiky skill set. You will learn how to use your new understanding to make changes in your life that will create more balance, calm, happiness and success, whilst minimising the impact of areas you find difficult. You'll discover how to use your stronger skills more and to your advantage. You will also explore ways to reduce and remove unnecessary anxiety, stress and overwhelm.

Time To Take Action!

Module Four is where it's time to take action. You'll have the knowledge and understanding from the previous three modules, and now it's time to create an action plan. Imagine being able to wake up after a restful night's sleep without being hit with a stream of anxiety-fueled thoughts about your day ahead. Imagine going about your day feeling confident and in control. Imagine being able to relax in the evenings and at weekends, rather than feeling frazzled and exhausted. Sounds great, doesn't it? This is the module to start to make this your reality.

A Fresh New Approach

During my decade + in management and leadership, I had to undertake so many skills analysis tests. In the earlier part of my career, in the early 2000s, psychometric testing was widespread. I quickly learnt never to apply for jobs that used psychometric testing because I never got the jobs. Recruiters said that my responses could have been more consistent, making me unreliable as an employee. My confidence in tatters, I vowed never to put myself through it again.

As my career progressed and I completed my management and coaching certificate, the focus was on looking for the strengths for myself and my team. No one ever assessed the skills where people struggled, and if it ever became evident that there was a skill gap, the goal became getting better at the skill. Trying harder, doing better.

But that is NOT the way!

The answer isn't to try and force ourselves to 'try harder' or 'be better'. The answer is to deeply understand your unique skill set and learn to harness and master it. Mastery isn't about becoming good at everything; it's about being radically honest with your abilities and then using that knowledge to create the best possible experiences in your life. Mastering focuses on maximising the use and potential of your strengths whilst minimising the impact of difficulties and challenges.

Yes, you may find opportunities to improve skills and embrace new tools and techniques with some skills. But that is not the goal of all skills. You do not need to be good at everything; no human being is (despite what some might have you believe!).

Some Famous Wise Words!

Sir Richard Branson is famous for being open about his neurodivergence. He has openly shared skills that don't come easily to him. He doesn't believe his job is to be good at everything as the incredible entrepreneur that he is. He focuses on using his strengths and let's others help and support him in the areas that he find difficult, frustrating or impossible to do.

Success doesn't come from being good at everything. It comes from mastering your skill set, in all it's glory. That is the secret to not only success, but creating a balanced, fulfilling and happy life.
